Jodie Paterson

The storm reaches me, I feel energized

All of my emotions are emphasized

My face a reflection of my fears

Nothing could hold back these tears

A loud crash fills the inner depths of my head

At this stage I might as well be dead

Lying on the surface is the big bright sun

It always managed to outrun

At least for a while.
