2016 goals

As if you haven’t read enough of these, right? Self-centered goal setting, the promises that can (and will) be broken, the bright eyed determination that will fade by February and my least favourite – reflecting on the year we’ve just had. Am I going to do it anyway? Yes, yes I am – minus the reflection. Why? Because I am human and love setting myself goals in order to gain a sense of achievement.

1. Write more

This is something I am experiencing increasing difficulty with. I find that I am now pushing myself to write anything, which hasn’t been an issue for years and is really bothering me. The goal is to write twice as much as I wrote this year in order to keep productive.

2. Make the dang film

You know the one that you always tell yourself you’re going to make, but things keep “getting in the way” – Yeah, my goal is to make it this year…or at least make much more effort to get it made.

3. Start the dang podcast

Podcasting has always interested me yet I have continued to put it off for years (probably due to lack of confidence) 2016 is the year, however that I will start it – at least that’s what I’m telling myself.

This refers to not only the goals above, but also getting my drivers license and many other “grown up” things I have been avoiding whilst trying to cling on to my youth (pfft).

5. Be more creative

Feeling that I have lost a lot of motivation to be creative I feel that it’s important that I gain the motivation back and take on some creative work or make some creative work for myself (You know, like making a film, writing…or starting a podcast.)

As you can tell I am basically kicking myself for not working hard enough this year on the things that do and will make me happy – this needs to, and will, change.
