august must-haves (2)

So we’re a fair bit in to August and I have developed a whole new set of must-haves for the month. These are the things that I an just absolutely obsessed with this month and things you should definitely look in to. Not all of these are in any way useful (in fact most aren’t) but they do bring me some level of joy. On another note: I am thinking of making these posts a monthly thing would you, my readers, enjoy that?

My August Must-Haves

Goat Gifs

These aren’t new in my life, but my goodness do they get me through the hard days. It’s just the way they jump, faint and play that gets me. They always look so happy and occasionally mischievous which for some unknown reason just makes my day 110% better which why they are firmly at the top of my August must-haves list. Please enjoy some goat gifs with me, look how adorable they are and feel a bit better about the rest of your day.

Local Coffee Shops and Cafes

Now I enjoy these all year round, but this month it’s been so much more important for me due to mental health issues. Getting out of the flat and going to lovely local cafes has been a necessity in my recovery. I think it’s the feel of being somewhere that the staff really care about. My favourites this month are Books and Beans and The Craftsman (who are dog friendly fyi).

Cookies

Once again these are great all year round, but this month I have gained an unhealthy obsession with them. Yes cookies of any variety. That’s baking, eating and smelling them. They are my absolute obsession right now and I feel somewhat calmed when I bake them myself. At the moment I am looking in to making strawberry and chocolate chip cookies, but I have already made nutella, salted caramel and chocolate chip chocolate cookies and they were heavenly.

Orange/Satsuma Shower Gel

Or in fact any kind of orange smelling cleaning product. For a while I was obsessed with the smell of coconut so all of my shampoos, shower gels etc were coconut, but I have since gained the new smell sensation of oranges. I’m not sure if it’s the citrus smell, but I absolutely can’t get enough of it, occasionally washing my hair twice just to smell it again. You can find my latest favourite orange product here.

GLOW

The new Netlix show GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) has been on my binge watch list this month. It’s amazing. and 100% deserves a place on this August must-haves list. Strong female characters are often written quite badly so it’s great to see a show with a predominantly female cast get it so right. If you don’t know what it’s about it’s about an actress who can’t get any roles and ends up joining a show about women’s wrestling. It’s so much better than I could even describe it – check it out!

So those are my August Must-Haves. What are yours? Please leave a comment below and tell me! They may even end up in my September must-haves list.
