One of the most difficult parts of a wedding can be deciding exactly how to decorate your wedding reception. You want it to be personal to you, but still include your guests as well; there’s no point holding a hunting themed wedding for a bunch of vegetarians. My advice is to do research by searching on any wedding shop to help you decide. I often find that I don’t know what I really want until I have actually seen it. It can be daunting, so I’m here to help with my favourite cute wedding reception decoration ideas.
Pin for later:
As you’re probably aware, mason jars are so hot right now so what if you could personalise them? Not only is it a cute idea for the day, but it’s also a keepsake for after the wedding so you can relive the day. Photo from here (and they’re currently on sale as I write this…so go get them!)
Vintage Airmail Favours
If you’ve got a vintage or a travel theme, I would highly recommend these. They’re a nice simple idea for a wedding favour and will look amazing when all your guests instagram the day. The bonus of this is that everyone travels nowadays and will love vintage styled decor. Photo from here
Personalised Paper Napkins
If the personalised mason jars are a bit too much for you, why not opt for personalised paper napkins instead? The idea is just as cute and you can keep a few aside for keepsakes. It’s cheaper, but just as quirky so, in my opinion, just as great an idea. Photo from here.
These are great because you can write anything you want and even change your mind on the day! Unlike other wedding boards that may be pre-ordered you have the power to alter it with last minute changes or re-use them later on in the night. Whatever you write on them, they are a very cute addition to your decorations. Photo from here.
Birdcage Candle Holders
Birdcages look ace as table decorations, and even better if you make it a candle holder. You can even keep them afterwards for decoration in your own home or garden. I’ve always found these cute, and I am sure your guests do too. Photo from here.
Rustic Table Planner
This can be something a little different from your average table planner boards and if the rest of your theme is shabby chic, your table planner should be too. It’s also super unique and smaller than your average table planner meaning it’s easier to find space for! Photo from here.
String of lights
I’m sure you’ll have seen these at many weddings, but fairy lights (or strings of lights) always look amazing at a wedding and there are so many to pick from so you’ll definitely find some in-fitting with you theme. These are really good for when it starts getting dark. I personally love this vintage street lamp one. Photo from here.
Vintage Paper Food Flags
This is great for when you’re serving snacky foods between the wedding and the reception, or when the cake is ready to be served because you can list what is vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc. they are also really really cute and would be a perfect addition to your wedding decor. Photo from here.
