Satisfaction can come from many things, from completing a task to eating, but what can you do if you’re not satisfied with your life? The answer isn’t always changing your entire life because that can be taxing and risky! However not changing your life wan leave you feeling like you’re not doing enough with your days. So what can we, realistically, do to feel more fulfilled in life? Below I share what I’m doing to help me feel more satisfied.
If you give yourself something to physically tick off, then you’ll feel like you’ve achieved more. If you make a list for yourself every day with things as small as “Have a shower” then it’ll help you get rid of the feeling that you haven’t used your time in the day wisely.
Stop Comparing Yourself To Others
Your success isn’t based off the success of others, so why compare your life to theirs at all? We can get ourselves so down worrying about what other people are doing instead of being productive ourselves. Strive to be the person people compare themselves to instead of getting bogged down with jealousy.
Remember That You Can’t Do Everything
Sometimes we give ourselves too much to do and think we can take on everything at once, therefore overdoing ourselves. Remember to listen to your bodies limits and become self aware of the things you can achieve and the things that are stretching yourself too far. There is no shame in admitting you took too much on and asking for help.
Things Always Work Out
Have you ever been in a situation that hasn’t eventually sorted itself out? That’s because generally when things are negative or bad they turn themselves around naturally. I often tell myself that “I’ll figure it out” and it takes away a lot of stress from my life because I’m not worried about what the future will entail for me.
Don’t Forget To Socialize
Stopping ourselves from socialising for the sake of our careers will leave us feeling lonely and sad. Make sure you meet up with friends regularly as a way to help you feel happier in life and more satisfied with your days as a whole. It can also help your creative juices flow and make you better at your work.
Remember To Rest
When we’re trying to feel better in our lives we often forget that rest can help us recuperate. We overwork ourselves to feel satisfied with what we’ve done, but sometimes we all need a duvet day, so don’t feel guilty for it. Allow yourself a certain number of hours per week to rest. Even if it’s just an hour a night, make sure you do it.
You’re Doing Better Than You Think You Are
There is no way good way to measure how you’re doing in your life because some people will think you’re doing really well and others will think the opposite. The truth is that you’re probably doing a lot better than you think you are. When things all come together you’ll see how amazing you’re doing.
