A Night Of The Arts

As many of you will know, I recently went back to university to study Events Management in Edinburgh. As part of my course work myself and my events group will be hosting a “Night Of The Arts”, in the form of a variety show and an exhibition, on April 4th at The Biscuit Factory in aid of Health In Mind. You can get tickets for £15 here: ticketsource.co.uk/elephantevents

The aim of this event is to give local young artists a place to show off their talent and raise money for a cause we feel passionate about and we’ve secured some amazing acts to perform and incredible artists to display their work on the night! There will be a raffle on the night with some incredible prizes, but at the heart of it all will be the charity Health In Mind.

Health in Mind is a Scottish charity that provides a wide range of services to support people with their mental health. They’ve been on the go since 1982 and have achieved some incredible things that they can tell you all about on the night! They have a strong focus on positive mental health and wellbeing which is, as you know, such an important thing to focus on. It’s important so support charities through fundraising events because the services they provide can be very expensive and the support they receive from statutory bodies can be minimal.

Our aim in choosing this charity was to raise awareness of Health In Mind, but also to raise awareness of positive mental health and wellbeing, especially for young people who can feel so alone in times of crisis. It’s incredibly vital that we make young people aware of the different places they can turn to because it can be hard to open up to family and friends at such a young age.
