If you and your partner are into gaming, it can be hard to find fresh ideas for fun dates, especially when you’re both stuck inside and may not be able to see each other in person. Gaming is such a fun way to connect with each other, from online games to board games. There is so much you can do with your other half during this time whether you’re together or not. Below I share my top gaming ideas for gamer couples.

Gaming Date Ideas For Those Living Together
If you’re living with your partner these are the gamers dates I highly recommend.
This can, of course, be played on the Nintendo Switch long distance, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s better to play in person. The Switch is the best way to play Mario Kart unless you still have your Nintendo Wii (which I know some of you still do!). Mario Kart is a super fun competitive game that is sure to make a great date night.
An Escape Room Game
Escape rooms are a really fun bonding experience. Did you know you can do them from the comfort of your own home? You can look up escape room packs online and find the one that you feel would fit you both the best. There are many themes to pick from.
Make A Sims Family Together
The Sims is an absolute classic. It’s a great way to feel in control when the world is unraveling around you. The cute thing about making a Sims family on a date night is that you can recreate your house as well and discuss what you’d like in future houses you may have together. You can form the life you both want and have important discussions to make sure you want the same things. They even have some amazing expansion packs to help you enjoy the game more.
I believe there is an online version of Uno too, but Uno is a card game that can easily be played with only 2 people. It can get heated but is a really fun way to spend an evening. Crack out the candles, your best snacky food, and play Uno to help connect with each other.
Gaming Date Ideas For Those Who Live Apart
If you live apart from your partner, or you’ve yet to meet the right person on a dating site for gamers for you these are the date ideas I recommend.
Visit Each Other On Animal Crossing
Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Switch allows you to visit each others islands. You can set up a cute virtual date and go fishing on your islands together. This is a really cute date idea. You can even phone each other whilst you’re doing it and discuss where you want to explore on the island next.
Online Board Game Simulator
Board games are always great fun, but you can do them online as well as in person. With a board game simulator, you can play games like Monopoly, Splendor, Dominoes, and many more. The best thing about board games is that there is a game for every level of ability.
Words With Friends
This isn’t strictly a high gaming level, but it’s definitely fun. It’s like scrabble but done online. You can play multiple games at a time with each other as well so you don’t need to wait for your other half to play their word. It can get surprisingly competitive but is a great way to connect throughout the day if you’re both busy working.
Any Multiplayer Online Game
I can’t tell you what your favourite game is or what console you have, but if you talk to your date you can find the perfect one to play together. There is plenty of options for you to choose and any game will help you connect with your date more.
